Thailand

The Office of the National Culture Commission (AAYONCC) initiated the teaching Thai dance and the traditional music instruments Project since 1987 with the main purpose of raising awareness and increasing knowledge of classical Thai culture among Thai youths, together with fostering Thai culture pedagogy to become the national identity with pride and unique.

Since 1987, as the Tahi Music Instruments and Thai Dance Club, the Thai dance and music instruments classes have been provided for youths from 6 years old on Saturdays, from the beginning, intermediate, to the advance level by Thai experts. Then since 1997 the Thai Music Instruments and Thai Dance Club has been upgraded into the Art Association for Youth, which is under the Office of the National Culture Commission, the Ministry of Culture. Moreover, traditional Thai masked Dance and north eastern folk dance and music classes have been created to strenghten and cover various areas of Thai dances and instruments. Our association has set the curriculum standard and improved quality of administration to contribute well - awareness of Thai culture among Thai people in all Thai societies

Awards:

  • In 2000 the Art Association for Youth got the 18th Outstanding Award of Outstanding Media for Youths, in the field of Central Region Folk   Media 1999 - 2000, from the Office of the Prime Minister.
  • In 2008 the Art Association for Youth was given the Royal Award as the Voluntary and Goodwill Organization for Youth 2008, in the field of the Cultural Art, by the Office of Welfare Promotion, Protection, and Empowerment of Vulnerable Groups, the Ministry of Social Development and Social Security
  • In 2009 the Honorary Award in efficiently promoting, managing and driving religious, art, and cultural work fields was given by the Ministry of Culture.
